The teaser of the much awaited period drama Kalank was recently launched by filmmakers Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar, in the presence of the entire star cast consisting of Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sonakshi Sinha. As you can guess, it was a star-studded affair and the teaser was launched at quite a grand scale. Abhishek Varman, the helmer of the magnum opus, was also present at the event.
The event was kick-started by introducing the producer quadrant, which included filmmakers Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar, along with Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star Studios, and Apoorva Mehta, CEO Dharma Productions. The producers, after addressing everyone present there, went ahead and presented the teaser of Kalank.

Immediately after the teaser was presented, Abhishek Varman was called upon. Abhishek’s previous and first feature film, 2 States, which starred Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was also jointly produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Dharma Productions.
Then came the moment for which everyone had been waiting for, and the ladies, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, and Alia Bhatt, followed by the men, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Varun Dhawan, made an entry onto the stage and were greeted by Sajid and Karan.
To make the pairings of the film stand out, the marketing team had planned color-coordinated clothes for the cast. While Sanjay-Madhuri were twinning in black, Alia-Varun and Aditya-Sonakshi were seen dawning white and red respectively. Each of the cast members was then asked to share their experience of working on Kalank and with the two production houses, and of course, they had all good things to say.
Varun Dhawan, on working with NGE for the third time said, “Kalank is a very special film for me as it is produced by people who are really close to me. I remember, very vividly, seeing Sajid Sir on the sets of my dad’s films, when I was a child and I always dreamt that one day he’d produce a film with me. Today I am doing my third film with him and it feels great”. The event was wrapped up by allowing a couple of media questions and the cast along with the producers posing for a few pictures.
Kalank, which is set in the pre-independence era, is the second collaboration between Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Dharma Productions after 2 States and is slated to release on the 17th of April this year.
