Kambakkht Ishq is the story of Love, the power of love. How people all over the world irrespective of their caste, community or language discover love and experience its many splendors.

You can run, you can hide, you can cry yourself hoarse denying its power, but love is an insidious little monster that can creeps up behind you, grabs you by your ankle making you falling like the proverbial ton of bricks back in love … Damn love (kambakkht ishq).

The story deals with the two protagonists Viraj Shergill (AKSHAY KUMAR) who is an action co-coordinator for almost every major studio in Hollywood & Simrita Rai (KAREENA KAPOOR) a trainee at the prestigious UCLA Medical Center living every moment of her life in the hope to graduate to the post of a resident doctor and attempt her first surgery.

Viraj & Simrita are as diverse as chalk and cheese.

Viraj loves women … he loves them so much that he cant decide if he should devote all his love to one girl for the rest of his life (a cool theory for basically being commitment phobic) he thinks all they do is distract the men from their focus of leading the pack. Viraj lives with the ideology that… marriage is just legal prostitution

Simrita Rai is the true definition of women’s liberation … literally because when she’s not practicing at the hospital she spends all her time educating & saving women from the oppression & evils of men (She comes from a broken home & a divorced elder sis) … Simrita lives with the ideology that all men are dogs
